This blog is intended to log the progress of a brand-new gardening project; the creation of an oasis of life and creativity where there was once just suburban lawn. But don't be suprised if I wander off-subject occaisionally; gardnening has plenty of things to distract your attentions away from what you originally set out to do!
There is so much about gardening that makes it such a satisfying past-time. There's the solitude, peace and tranquility. There's the planning and nurturing. The staggering diversity of life in the garden. The beauty of the plants themselves. And most importantly, the cycle of life is constantly turning before you, responding to your actions, and acted out in full in every corner of the garden.
I'm not exactly new to gardening; my wife Sue has always been a gardener and we have worked together over the years creating various gardens for ourselves. But this one is just me. And from scratch... as a Born Again Gardener.
I want this blog to do more than to catalogue the nut-n-bolts of how to grow, of which I'm no expert anyway. I want to talk about what it feels like to be a gardener, to lose yourself in the process of growing. To share those moments when something simply amazes you, when the philosopher in you is roused. And hopefully it will be fun too!
Be sure to click around; there's links to allsorts. . have a look.
